The name itself leaves very little to one’s imagination but even then it is one heck of a read! Two brothers threaten to kill a man and their entire village comes to know about it except that man! You get more than a good idea about the story’s plot just from the back cover of the book but the author still manages to capture the reader’s attention with its gripping (and chilling!) theme. Even though the book’s plot is so explicit that once you start reading you will not be able to stop untill you get to the very last page. And that should not be a problem because the book is more a story than cumbersome novel. The book is considered as a classic from the author and a must read for anyone who enjoys a good mystery (yes! The plot has its own mystery!) .

GONE GIRL

Interesting name! This is what crosses everyone’s mind when they hear the book’s name and it must have definitely spiked your imagination as to what the book must be about. I thought it would be about a confused girl who would rise up to the occasion when the plot thickens. This is a story about a girl alright but she’s nothing confused! The story is about a husband and wife working really good jobs in New York City until they get laid off and decide to move back into the husband’s home town Missoury . And then one fine day the wife goes missing and the husband becomes the main suspect. The story goes on a roller coaster ride from there and will keep even a non-reader on the edge of their seats. But instead of a crime investigation novel you get a really witty, exciting and psychic thriller! It is a must read as the book is one of a kind and the writer takes you along the story beautifully! Setting the theme of the story super quick, Sheldon takes the readers along the story with break neck speed. It is an amazing read for people who like a lot of unexpected twists, turns and deception in their stories. It keeps the readers engaged with witty ideas and uncomplicated but super plots. And try to not to have a small crush on the hero!

KARNA’S WIFE

Mahabharata is one of the biggest epics ever written. There would be very few Indians who may not even have heard of it. But majority of the people don’t know the story. In simple words, it’s a war between 2 brothers over a kingdom. Sounds familiar!?

But for those who are tired of listening to the conventional winning side’s story, this book is a breath of fresh air. The author chooses a really out of the way person’s point of view to tell the story, Karna’s wife.

Karna was the strongest of them all. Even stronger than the heroes. But no one sang songs of his strength or heroism because he was a villain. He never chose to be a villain but circumstances made him one. Because he should have been a hero. The leader of the winning side. But fate plays mean tricks.

But what of his wife? Who knew that he was being wronged ? What will she be able to do when she realizes that even karna knows that what is being done to him isn’t justice??

The book tells Mahabharata from a totally different point of view. Though karna is shown as a ruthless villain in the actual epic, in the book you will see a hero who faced injustices throughout his life due to no fault of his own.  Even though everything he does cannot be justified no one will be able to help themselves from falling at least a little bit in love with him.

GAME OF THRONES

Are you even an earthling if you haven’t heard of Game of Thrones!!??!

GoT fans will ask you that if you haven’t seen the series also!

Till a few days back I would have been slightly irritated with all the fuss that a series is making. I mean what was the big deal about it!!? It’s just a book series being made into a television series. Big deal!

Trying to watch from the very first episode of GoT felt too cumbersome, so I decided to read the book(yea, like that is any less work!). And OH MY GODD!!! It finally dawned on me as to why everyone was going gaga over the series, because it’s BLOODY AMAZING!!!!!!!

If anyone opened this to find out what the series is about, then I am very sorry to tell you that you are not going to get a review about GoT because you have got to experience it yourself! Yes! Reading the book or watching the series is a mind blowing journey in itself!

Go ahead and get to know what the whole thing is about.. you will not regret it!!!
